Profab 1000 series – Fire Rated Access Panels for Ceilings and Walls

Profab 1000 Series (1000) 1 Hour Fire Rated (1FR) Metal Door (MD) Beaded Frame (BF) Access Panels are designed to be fitted & tape and jointed or skimmed into fire rated jointless plaster / plasterboard wall / partitions and suspended ceilings systems.

Profab fire rated access panels are ideal where fire proof access to mechanical and electrical services is required without compromising aesthetics.

The 1.2mm thick, electro-galvanised mild steel frame holds a flush 0.9mm thick, electro-galvanised mild steel flush faced door (MD) through a simple concealed pivot hinge device.

The door is held closed with a concealed lock and opens towards the user. Doors are removable if damage occurs or during installation.

Panels are powder coat finished all over, a constant 2mm gap is maintained between the door and frame.

All standard panels are for internal use and only in areas of normal humidity. Suitable for vertical or horizontal use where the panel is either being installed prior to any tape and jointing or skim-coat plastering (BF) or being installed after all finishing work has been completed (PF).

Apertures formed in dry lined walls and ceilings should be formed in accordance with the manufactures recommendations and adequately supported to take the additional weight and operating forces exerted during operation. Profab recommends apertures formed in ceilings should have addition support in all four corners and at 600mm centres.

The panel is fitted with a concealed budget lock (BL) as standard, operated with a supplied square drive key through a round keyhole in the door face following removal of the white plastic cap (Additional keys and caps are available).
